The REGIN Project is pleased to announce that the MIPEX-R website—offering open-source access to migrant integration governance data on a regional level—is now live.

The Region of Skåne has had a unique role as a pioneer within the REGIN project. Contrary to the rest of our regional partners, Skåne has already developed an integration and inclusion action, which encompasses a testbed on health and integration.

Puglia’s first Stakeholders’ Capacity Building session was held on 18th December 2020 and gathered 52 participants from different sectors and areas.

The last plenary session of the European Committee of the Regions on 19th March saw the official launch of a new CoR/European Commission DG HOME partnership on integration.

Cartagena, one of the seven city partners of the European Pact for Integration – EPI Project, participated in the first REGIN stakeholders’ capacity building session entitled «Jornada de Participación: propuestas para la integración» organised online on 18th March 2021.

The REGIN project is proud to present some initial results of its work that provide evidence-based tools to assist policy makers and practitioners in the planning, design and implementation of their actions to promote migrant and refugee inclusion.

Puglia’s project activities for the year 2020 ended on 18 December with the organisation of the first dissemination meeting on the objectives and actions envisaged by REGIN in Puglia and a first Capacity Building session on the theme «Integration and inclusion of migrants in the age of the COVID-19 pandemic».

The Region of Murcia organised its dissemination meeting on the 24 November, held online and under the title «Abordando la integración de inmigrantes y refugiados en la Región de Murcia» (Addressing the Integration of Migrants and Refugees in the Region of Murcia).

As part of the REGIN project, the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, and Families organised a dissemination event and a Capacity Building meeting with relevant stakeholders on December 15 and 16, respectively.

Currently Campania Region is coordinating its effort to design a well-structured integration system and the urgency to cope with the special needs of the migrant population in the aftermath of the Covid-19 emergency.

As part of a toolkit to strengthen Regions’ role in migrant integration and inclusion, and through the coordination of technical partner Instrategies, the REGIN Project has launched a set of guidelines for regional staff training.

On 12 and 13 of February, The REGIN project kick-off meeting took place in Brussels, hosted by CPMR, and gathered representatives from Azores (Portugal), Campania (Italy), Catalonia (Spain), Murcia (Spain), Puglia (Italy) and Skåne (Sweden) regions, as well as representatives from CIDOB, Instrategies and the Migration Policy Group (MPG). 

The Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR) is leading the project consortium involving 6 of its member regions and 3 technical partners, in a project named “Regions for Migrants and Refugees Integration’’ (REGIN), funded by the European Union’s Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF).
