The Region of Murcia organised its first Stakeholders Capacity Building session online on 18th March 2021, with the support of Instrategies. María Lucía Hernández Martínez, General Directorate of Social Services and Relations with the Third Sector, introduced the event; Gemma Pinyol from Instrategies explained the objectives of the stakeholders’ capacity-building session and methodology within the framework of the REGIN project, the two regional experts, Marta Latorre Catalán and María Isabel Cutillas Fernández, presented the analysis of the regional indicators MIPEX-R and preliminary results. Later, the participants were divided twice in 4 working groups to analyse the current regional situation using SWOT analysis and to define potential actions and initiatives to be implemented at regional level in order to respond to some of the challenges identified in the previous analysis. This first event was a success with more than 30 participants and enriching and relevant exchanges between key regional stakeholders.
On 13th April, the Region of Murcia organised an online training session for regional staff with the support of the Foundation CEPAIM, that promoted networking between actors and measures relevant to the field of integration in the economy and labour market. María Lucía Hernández Martínez, General Directorate of Social Services and Relations with the Third Sector, introduced the event; Gemma Pinyol from Instrategies gave an introduction to integration policies, Alicia Balsalobre Castejón (coordinator of the social services from the Municipality of San Javier) shared local experiences on integration policies from the perspective of the Municipalities of San Javier and Totana, Juan Antonio Segura Lucas from the CEPAIM Foundation talked about the governance of aspects such as diversity, discrimination, racism and xenophobia. To close the session, José Luis Ortega Cañavate from the Municipality of Cartagena shared local experience on the governance of diversity from the perspective in the Municipalities of Cartagena. During the session, participants were invited to take the floor and express their opinion of the aspects that gave an enriching exchange between regional and local actors.
Both actions have served to lead Murcia to develop several actions in the field of discourse and enforce shared spaces for public administrations in the Region.
