REGIN Presentation Day: Addressing the Integration of Migrants in the Region of Murcia

As part of the REGIN Project (Regions for Migrant and Refugees Integration), on 24 November at 9.30am the Region of Murcia will hold an online REGIN Presentation Day “Addressing the Integration of Migrants in the Region of Murcia”#RegInMurcia.

The objective of the conference is to present the tools that will be developed under the project and the added value they can offer to key regional stakeholders, as well as to discuss the challenges and opportunities of integration in our region.

Participants include MEP José Ramón Bauzá Díaz to address the integration of migrants and refugees at the European level, as well as the Regional Vice President and Councillor for Women, Equality, LGTBI, Families and Social Policy, Isabel Franco Sánchez, the Executive Director of the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR) Davide Strangis and the Head of the Social Volunteering, Migration and Return Service, María Teresa Muñoz Ibáñez, who will define the project at a regional level and the role of the Region of Murcia in REGIN. Experts in migration from the University of Murcia Marta Latorre Catalán and Isabel María Cutillas Fernández will present the preliminary results and methodology used in the study of regional MIPEX-R indicators. The day will then focus on a participatory round table on “Opportunities and challenges in the integration of immigrants” with the participation of the Director General of the CEPAIM Foundation Juan Antonio Segura Lucas representing civil society and third sector organizations, the President of the Federation of African Associations of Murcia Mady Cisse Ba representing the migrant community, and the coordinator of the Immigration and Cooperation Unit for the Development of Social Services of the city of Cartagena José Luís Ortega Cañavate, to offer a perspective from a local administration .
