At the premises of Skåne County Administrative Board, information films are currently being recorded in several languages about the corona virus and how we together can slow down the spread. Behind the films with up-to-date information for newly arrived and foreign-born people are the County Administrative Board of Skåne, the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB), the National Board of Health and Welfare, and the Public Health Agency of Sweden. All information is verified by the Public Health Agency.
-“It is an important assignment that shows how capable our civic and health communicators are. In a normal situation, the communicators inform about Swedish society and health, and now they have switched to being translators and ‘news readers’”, says Ziad Jomaa, Manager for Civic and Health Communication at the County Administrative Board of Skåne.
To fulfill the mission of MSB, an organization has been set up with civic and health communicators around the country, which are part of the MILSA educational platform and thus a part of the cooperation network of Partnership Skåne.
Initially, the languages used were Arabic, Somali, Tigrinese and Persian, and now there is also information in Thai and Pashto. The elements will gradually be expanded both in terms of language and content, including information in Turkish, BKS (Serbian, Bosnian and Croatian), Sorani and Kurmanji. Links to the films are spread on social media and through existing networks of authorities, municipalities and civil society organizations.
