The Generalitat de Catalunya took the opportunity of this year’s International Migrants Day celebration to pay tribute to all migrants that have played an essential role in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, it organised a commemorative event on 17 December, which was broadcast online.
Attendees could hear the testimony of a doctor who got her degree recognised, supported by the SARU (the support service for university degree recognition of the Catalan Government). Moreover, a representative of the EAMISS association talked about how they adapted to continue taking care of dependent people during the pandemic. Lastly, three former unaccompanied migrant children explained how they organised themselves to sew masks selflessly.
