REGIN Dissemination Event in Azores

The Government of the Azores, through the Regional Department for the Communities, is promoting the public presentation of the European project REGIN – Regions for Migrants and Refugees Integration regarding the Autonomous Region of the Azores, on the next Wednesday, February 3, at 2:30 pm, at an online session (with pre-registration), especially intended for public administration and non-governmental organizations executives and technicians, as well as for the media.

The session will be chaired by the Vice-President of the Government of the Azores, Artur Lima, and the Regional Director for Communities, José Andrade, will deliver a presentation on “The Immigrants’ Integration in the Azores”.

The technical representative of the CPMR – Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions of Europe, Claire Street, will present the objectives of the project and the initiatives carried out within it and the ones yet to be developed, as well as MIPEX-R (Migrant Integration Regional Policy Index) preliminary outcomes.

The event program also includes a panel on “The associations’ role in promoting integration in the Azores”, with Leoter Viegas, vice-president of AIPA – Association of the Immigrants in the Azores, and Ana Silva, Project Director and Office Coordinator of the Support Office for Migrants at CRESAÇOR – Solidarity Economy Regional Cooperative, as  panelists.

A question and answer session, for all participants who wish to deepen some of the themes addressed, will close/conclude the session.
