This partnership &#8211; foreseen in the European Commission&#8217;s new <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/commission\/presscorner\/detail\/en\/ip_20_2178\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Action Plan on Integration and Inclusion 2021-2027<\/a> &#8211; builds on the existing\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cor.europa.eu\/en\/our-work\/Pages\/cities-and-regions-for-integration.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cities and Regions for Integration<\/a>\u00a0initiative, launched in 2019, of which the CPMR is an associated partner. It is a clear sign that the EU institutions recognise the important role of regional and local authorities in integration and inclusion and wish to give them a greater voice at the European level.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The partnership aims to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Build an open and\u00a0<strong>regular dialogue<\/strong>\u00a0between the Commission, the Committee of the Regions, and local and regional authorities on integration through political roundtables, public consultations and a new forum to map the territorial impact of migration and identify specific needs of the most affected local and regional authorities;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Build capacity and promote\u00a0<strong>exchange of experiences<\/strong>\u00a0for local and regional authorities on different aspects of integration and on community sponsorship through workshops, online training materials, study visits, mentoring and exchange programmes;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Improve <strong>evidence and data<\/strong>\u00a0on integration at the local level, for example by providing information on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/migrant-integration\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">European Website on Integration<\/a>, drawing on data collected in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cor.europa.eu\/en\/our-work\/Pages\/EURegionalBarometer-2020.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">EU Annual Local and Regional Barometer<\/a> and other sources.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Starting early summer this year, a series of events is planned, including a high-level conference in early autumn in the presence of Commissioner Schinas. The Committee of the Regions has also commissioned a study entitled \u201cBarometer on the Territorial Impact of Migration\u201d due in the second half of 2021.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The CPMR is already in discussions with the Committee of the Regions to identify areas of collaboration and synergies with its own activities, including through the REGIN Project. Given the configuration of its membership, which is made up of peripheral and maritime regions, the CPMR has been clearly identified as a key partner in shaping the Forum of forefront regions as foreseen under Objective 1 of the partnership document.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In addition, we see this new partnership as a great opportunity to promote the results of our REGIN Project and the tools we are developing to enhance regional policies and performance on the integration and inclusion of migrants and refugees by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sharing among other regional and local authorities the <a href=\"https:\/\/reginproject.eu\/resources-for-regions\/regional-toolkit\/training-guidelines\/\">training modules<\/a> for regional authority staff and the <a href=\"https:\/\/reginproject.eu\/website\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/D4.3_CapacityBuildingGuidelines.pdf\">stakeholder capacity building guidelines<\/a>;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Enriching the exchange of know-how and experience in the field through the <strong>REGIN Integration Lab<\/strong>, a <a href=\"https:\/\/reginproject.eu\/resources-for-regions\/integration-lab\/\">database and mapping of innovative practices<\/a> due to be launched in July;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Contributing to Objective 3 of the partnership \u201cimproving evidence and data on integration at local level\u201d with the policy and outcome indicators based on the <a href=\"https:\/\/reginproject.eu\/website\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/D3.1-D3.2_MIPEX-R-Outcome-indicators-Methodological-Note.pdf\">MIPEX-R methodology<\/a> currently being applied in 22 regions.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The CPMR is looking forward to making the most of this new channel to contribute to the European policy debate and share experiences
