Speakers included MEP\u00a0Jos\u00e9 Ram\u00f3n Bauz\u00e1 D\u00edaz<\/strong>\u00a0to address the integration of migrants and refugees at the European level, as well as the Secretary General for Women, Equality, LGBTI, Families and Social Policy,\u00a0Antonio S\u00e1nchez Lorente<\/strong>, the Executive Director of the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR)\u00a0Davide Strangis<\/strong>\u00a0and the head of the Social Volunteering, Emigration and Return Service,\u00a0Mar\u00eda Teresa Mu\u00f1oz Ib\u00e1\u00f1ez<\/strong>\u00a0who defined the project at a regional level and the role of the Region of Murcia in REGIN. Experts in migration from the University of Murcia\u00a0Marta Latorre Catal\u00e1n<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Isabel Mar\u00eda Cutillas Fern\u00e1ndez<\/strong>\u00a0 presented the preliminary results and methodology used in the study of regional MIPEX-R indicators. The day then focused on a participatory round table on\u00a0\u201cOpportunities and challenges in the integration of immigrants\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0with the participation of the Director General of the CEPAIM Foundation\u00a0Juan Antonio Segura Lucas<\/strong>\u00a0representing civil society and third sector organizations, the President of the Federation of African Associations of Murcia\u00a0Mady Cisse Ba<\/strong>\u00a0representing the migrant community, and the coordinator of the Immigration and Cooperation Unit for the Development of Social Services of the city of Cartagena\u00a0Jos\u00e9 Lu\u00eds Ortega Ca\u00f1avate<\/strong>, to offer a perspective from a local administration.<\/p>\nThe attendees positively valued the creation of a network for sharing knowledge and experience in migration issues, as well as the development of new tools to improve and reinforce regional public policies and services provided to citizens.<\/p>\n
