The training guidelines are part of the set of instruments and toolsthat will be used by regions to promote migrant integration and inclusion. The goal of these guidelines is to upgrade staff competencies, knowledge, skills and attitude with the aim of addressing identified performance gaps on migrants’ integration. The expected results of the guidelines are that they will provide public service employees with a clear understanding of migrants’ integration and the incorporation of diversity as a cross cutting issue in public services. The specific objectives of the guidelines are the following:
To create a common base of knowledge and to increase staffs’ knowledge and understanding of migrant integration and inclusion processes;
To identify performance gaps and other challenges related to migrant integration and inclusion;
To provide a roadmap to deal with integration and inclusion as a transversal issue in public services.
